Enjoying Canada’s waterways is one of our greatest summer pastimes, and we all want to have fun and enjoy our time on the water. Just remember that while your boat is underway it’s important to operate in a safe and courteous manner. 

Here are some tips for how get the most out of your time on the water, and operate your boat safely:

• Understand and take into account the effects of being on the water, and operate your boat accordingly
• Operate your boat at a safe and appropriate speed
• Know the proper techniques for reducing risks while boating at high speeds
• Know how to operate safely amongst other boat traffic during the day or at night
• Be courteous to others on the water
