If circumstances require that you and your passengers (guests) need to abandon ship, perform the following:

STEP 1:

Ensure that you and your passengers (guests) are wearing a lifejacket or PFD

STEP 2:

If possible, signal your need for assistance with a recognized distress signal

STEP 3:

When abandoning the boat, jump to the windward side of the boat if possible - this way the boat will drift away from you

STEP 4:

Swim well clear of the boat

STEP 5:

Confirm that all passengers (guests) are present and accounted for
