USING HAND SIGNALS

Use the following hand signals to communicate with other paddlers in your group:

HELP: If you’re in trouble, wave your paddle from side to side to signal that you’re in distress.

I’M OK: Touch and pat the top of your head with your hand to let others know you’re not in need of assistance.

STOP: Hold your paddle horizontally above your head.

ALL CLEAR: Hold your paddle on the side of your craft that is clear.
