Module 03 - RIFLES 101
THE FIRING CYCLE OF A LEVER ACTION RIFLE
See how it works:
- The lever is pulled down.
- This action forces the firing pin and bolt backwards and a cartridge will lift up into the chamber.
- If there’s an empty cartridge in the chamber, it will eject.
- When the lever is lifted back up to its original position, the bolt, firing pin and cartridge will all be pushed forward. This action moves the cartridge into the chamber and loads the firearm for shooting.
- When the trigger is pulled, the hammer will strike the firing pin, then the firing pin will strike the cartridge and the bullet will project from the firearm.
