Module 07 - MARKSMANSHIP
THE NEVER LIST
This is the ‘NEVER LIST’. There are certain shots that you should never take under any circumstances. So, never shoot at:
Game animals that you can't 100% identify.
A sound, movement or a dark shape through heavy brush.
Running game—there is little opportunity to check your safe zone of fire and it’ll be tough to make a clean kill.
Skyline game animals (animals that are standing on or moving over a hill).
Game animals that are out of your safe and effective range.
Flocks of game birds—make a single duck your target and attempt to make a clean kill, rather than the doing the old ‘pray n’ spray’.
Targets that may have objects in the foreground that could deflect your bullet.
Backgrounds that your bullet may ricochet off.
Game animals that another hunter is shooting at.
Game animals when there is no clear vital zone shot.
