Wildlife management is the exact science of monitoring the numbers of animals in various wildlife populations and then making adjustments to animal populations and their habitats based on those numbers. So, let’s break it down.
Wildlife managers are professionals with government agencies who are responsible for:
- Establishing hunting regulations (i.e. hunting seasons and bag limits).
- Establishing animal refuge areas.
- Determining annual harvest restrictions.
- Protecting and improving wildlife habitats.
