COMMON GAME ANIMALS FROM A-Z
Hunters must be able to correctly identify wildlife species to prevent the unintentional killing of non-target wildlife and to prevent accidental shootings during which people are mistaken for game. Know what you’re looking for out there and never make assumptions. Remember, it’s only a safe shot if you can 100% identify the target.
So, what exactly is a game animal and what makes it different? Game animals are wildlife that can be hunted legally.
Game animals:
- Are used primarily for food.
- Are abundant and have sustainable population levels.
- Offer a unique or traditional challenge for hunters.
