You guessed it—‘dogging’ is when you use trained hunting dogs to drive (or chase) the game out from cover. Dogs can drive small game, like rabbits and hares and they may also be permitted for hunting deer and other big game in select areas.

Whether you’re hunting big or small game, you’ll need to make sure the dog is well-trained to do the work while you wait for the game to emerge from the bush. You should also make sure that your dog is wearing a blaze orange bandana or vest. This will help you keep an eye on it and prevent it from being mistaken as a game animal by other hunters.
