ARROWHEAD TYPES
Different types of arrowheads are meant for different types of hunting. Some smaller arrowheads are meant for hunting small game and some larger arrowhead types called ‘broadheads’, are meant specifically for bringing down big game.
Here’s a list of what you’ll find in stores:
BULLET POINT:
This arrowhead has a steel point and is most often used for small game hunting or for target practice.
BLUNT POINT:
This arrowhead is non-pointed, made of rubber, plastic or steel and is most often used for hunting small game or for target practice.
FIELD POINT:
This arrowhead has a steel point that is designed to prevent the arrow from ricocheting with the ground when field shooting. Most often used for hunting small game or for target practice.
JUDO POINT:
This arrowhead has a point with spring arms that is designed to catch in grass and leaves to prevent arrow loss. Most often used for hunting small game or for target shooting.
FISH POINT:
This arrowhead is used for spearing fish in the water. It’s designed with a barbed head that secures the fish once they've been speared. The arrow is attached to a line so you can reel it in.
WIRE-LOOP HEADS:
These arrowheads have flat heads with a series of stiff wire loops. They are designed to cover a wider hit area for shooting at birds.
