Module 13 - YOUR CONTRACT TO KILL
GET A GOOD-LOOKING BIRD
To prep a game bird to be made into a mount, you’ll want to immediately wipe any blood or dirt from the feathers with a clean cloth once you retrieve it. Dab the cloth lightly in water to remove stains and be careful to wipe the feathers in the direction they grow so they don’t get roughed up and straggly. Stuff a tissue in the bird’s mouth or nostrils to prevent bloodstains and carry the bird head-down to transport it. Once home, wrap the bird in plastic and keep it frozen until it can be delivered to the taxidermist.
