Module 14 - SURVIVAL

THE MELT FACTOR

If you’re setting up a snow cave, you can count on breaking a sweat. This is dangerous in cold weather because once you cool down, the sweat will be damp underneath your clothes. It’s also difficult not to get wet while digging in the snow… and once you climb inside the snow cave, your body heat will warm the walls causing the snow to melt and drip. So, the point is, staying dry in this situation is challenging but it’s also essential to your survival. Remove and add clothing layers as needed.
