Module 01 - Rider Basics
CONFIDENCE IS SAFETY
Practicing safe riding habits will improve your overall enjoyment of the experience. It’s awesome what confidence can do for you! If you know you’re doing everything right, then all you’ve got to worry about is the journey ahead!
Don’t get cocky though because the truth is, no matter how much time you’ve spent on the trails, or how well you think you know your sled, you can still be caught off guard. You’ll need to know how to deal with the situation when it happens. For example, your machine could break down, you may get caught riding in a bad winter storm, or your sled may unexpectedly break through a patch of ice. Some things are just out of our control, but by making a ritual of your good habits and getting lots of practice time in, you’ll be able to stare these problems in the face and deal with them confidently. Have your own back out there by knowing your stuff.
