Module 02 - Before Heading Out
HOW’S YOUR RIDER HEALTH?
Snowmobiling is an active sport. Yeah, you’re on your butt most of the time, but your body will constantly be shifting and moving around to stay balanced, brace against impacts, and stay in control of the machine. So, if it’s a cold day and you’ve been ripping it up for a few hours, don’t ignore the tug of exhaustion. Your machine needs to be serviced and your body does too. Here’s how you should be taking care of yourself.
STAY IN SHAPE
Get some exercise! If you’ve been playing video games on the couch for the last 6 months, your first day on a rugged trail is gonna’ feel pretty rough. So, work out at a gym, join a team, just find something to do that will keep you active throughout the year.
REST UP
Get some shut-eye the night before a big trip. If you don’t get enough sleep, you’ll be less attentive on the trail and you’ll be a hazard to yourself and to other trail users.
FUEL YOURSELF
Chow down on a big breakfast, pack healthy snacks, and bring lots of water for the trip. Keep your energy level up so you can rip around until the sun goes down.
