TURNING
You’re going to be doing a lot of turning during your sledding career. Let’s break it down so you’re doing it properly and safely from the start!
WHEN GOING INTO A TURN:
STEP 1
Slow down by releasing the throttle to stay in control of the machine.
STEP 2
Shift your body weight forward and toward the inside of the turn (leaning the opposite way provides less stability and can cause the machine to tip over). This will place more weight on the inside ski allowing it to maintain contact with the snow.
STEP 3
Look in the direction you’re turning as you turn the handlebars and you’ll go there (it’s a trick that works!).
RIDER SAFETY TIP: BE THE TURN MASTER
Practice making turns in a controlled area, with an experienced rider to supervise you. Set up an obstacle course for you and your buddies and go for a rip! Once you’ve mastered a homemade course you’ll be better prepared to tackle a tricky trail, and you’ll be much more comfortable with your vehicle's turning ability.
